TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL BANGLADESH (TIB)
Library User Guideline

1. INTRODUCTION
TIB library is a resource center for its stakeholders. It is an integral part of the organization and designed to meet the required information and knowledge of its staff members and other stakeholders. The library provides a variety of services to support TIB staff members, students, researchers and other citizens. All user of the library may consult, borrow book, journal, printed/non-printed materials, on-line resources, and receive any other services if available in the library.
1.2 Right of Entry
TIB library is open for all citizen of the country. TIB staffs can borrow/lend library materials if necessary. Outside users can use/read books, journals, documents and other printed materials within the library premises. They are not allowed to borrow any books or documents.
2. Library Resources
The general collection consists of approximately 4,600 volumes primary scholarly monographs, books, reference materials, journals, magazines and statistical publications, as well as current newspapers and periodicals. Collection of TIB Library is comprised of books and periodicals related to the field of Corruption, Governance, Good Governance, Economics, Social Sciences, Business Studies, Bangladesh Studies and others. 
2.1. Open access Library
Books are placed in open stacks for the convenience of use and consultation. TIB library maintains open access shelves to give enough choices to users so that they can select desired library materials. Users can go directly to stacks and look for their required materials.
3. LIBRARY BORROWING SYSTEM
MC-1 Members of Board of Trustee and Core or Project staff members of TIB
• A member of the Trustee Board or Core/Project staff may borrow up to 05 (five) books or CD’s at a time for 30 days. Books and CDs may be renewed for future period subject to submission of request.
• One copy of bound journals/periodicals may also be borrowed for maximum 14 days.
• One copy of current journals/periodicals and other reference materials may be borrowed for maximum 7 days.
MC-2 Part-time or Intern of TIB
• A contractual staff or Intern may entitled to borrow 02 (two) books at a time for seven days with prior approval of his/her supervisor.
4. GENERAL BORROWING RULES
4.1 For each book/document, the Library Officer must record a lone transaction. In any circumstances any document/book can not be taken out of the Library until a loan record is made for it.
4.2 Borrower has to sign in the register book for borrowing any Library materials.
4.3 Borrowed library material(s) may be recalled at any time as per need of TIB Library. Generally reserved or overdue book(s) will be recalled.
4.4 Every item borrowed from the Library must be returned by due date.
4.5 Borrowed books may be renewed further provided the book(s) is/are physically produced and checked by the library staff at the circulation desk and not requested by others.
5. REPLACEMENT OF LOST LIBRARY BOOKS, AND OTHER RESOURCES
Books lost by the borrower must be replaced by a new original copy of the book(s) of the same author(s), title and edition. Book(s) of one author, title and edition cannot be replaced by a book(s) of other author(s) and title if the books are available in market. But if the is not available in the market then a book of a different author on the same or related subject can be replaced if the management approve it.
The current price of the book(s) is/are to be paid if the book(s) is/are lost and replacement copy (ies) is/are not provided. For lost book(s), which is/are out of print, the borrower must pay a fine as determined by the TIB management. In case of editions, only the latest edition can be replaced.
7. LIBRARY CLEARANCE
It is mandatory for all staff of TIB to receive clearance from library during his/her separation from TIB.

Library Timings

Sunday to Thursday
(9:30am to 5:00pm)
It remains closed on Friday, Saturday, and government declared holidays.
