Classification Library resources are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) scheme and books are arranged according to DDC and Subject wise on the shelves.
Cataloging Books are cataloged directly into the computer using special library software named Mirror developed by Infometrics & TIB. Library personnel are ready to assist/help the users in searching books or other materials.
Call Number A call number is a group of numbers and/or letters put together to tell you where in the library to find your book. It is located at the bottom of the book on the spine. It helps you to find your books quicker. Once you've got your call number from the card catalog, it’s time to go find your book!
Call numbers consists of two parts in sequence: Dewey Code First two letters of the main author's surname and first one letter of the title excepting A, An, the etc.
Example: The book "Managerial Economics" by Garrison will have the book identifier code, 330 AND, where 330 is the Dewey classification for Economics subject and GAE is the first two letter of the author's surname Garrison and first letter of the title Economics.
Library Timings
Sunday to Thursday (9:30am to 5:00pm) It remains closed on Friday,Saturday, and government declared holidays.
